THE POWER OF GIVING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,

will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

– Luke 6:38

Did you know that the basis of Christianity is giving? God gave Jesus to the world, and through him, Believers will gain Salvation. God did not spare His only Son but gave him up for us; we must also learn to give. If we truly call ourselves Christians, we must give to humanity cheerfully just like God.

And, when you give cheerfully, God will enable you to reap enormous benefits.

Blessings for your generation

When I was a child, a family friend treated me with genuine love; he was kind. However, he passed away ten years ago. Recently, I remembered the man’s kindness, so I am helping His family because of his sake.

Similar event between me and our family friend happened in the bible. In 2 Samuel 9:1, David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake? And Mephibosheth, Johnathan’s son, gained favor in the eyes of David. King David became a blessing to Mephibosheth because he remembered that his friend Johnathan was there for him when Saul wanted to kill him. Note that it was the kindness of Johnathan that brought the blessing to His Son, Mephibosheth.

Also, the Israelites gained favor in God’s eyes because Abraham decided to sacrifice his only son, Issac, to God. So, God was with the Israelites; our Lord fought their battles for them for Abraham’s sake.  (Exodus 2:24)

Honor from Men.

In the bible, there was a man called Cornelius; he was devoted to God and gave alms generously to others. In Acts 10:4, Scripture says, an angel appeared to him and said, his alms and prayer have come up as a memorial to God. As a result, the Lord sent Peter to bless the Household of Cornelius because of his generosity.

Blessings from God

Anyone who gives cheerfully receives abundant blessings from God. I am saying this because of experience. I am a giver because I have compassion for humanity. Due to my kindness, I keep receiving blessings from God financially, in health, and every aspect of my life. My financial well-being has been steadily growing because of my generosity.

My testimony is personal, and some people might doubt, but let’s dive into the word of God, which never lies. Let’s learn about a woman who gave cheerfully and received blessings from God. In 1 Kings 17:7-16, a widow from Zarephath used her last flour in a jar and a little oil to make food for Prophet Elijah. After, that act from the woman scriptures have made us understand that the flour and oil continued to replenish. The woman and her family never lacked food in time of famine due to her kindness towards Prophet Elijah.

If you are a giver, do it cheerfully, and God will show you favor. When you give, seek no blessing from man but from God only. And God, who is a rewarder, will bless you tremendously.
